ABOUT
Motorsport Consulting was founded by Rik Kasius in 2012.
Starting his educational career with BEng Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences of INHolland Delft allowed him to explore precise engineering. Aeronautical Engineering has a great overlap with motorsport and therefore he has specialised in aerodynamics and lightweight construction to advance towards a career in motorsports.
In 2006 as part of that same aeronautical degree he performed an internship at the Le Mans and LMS competitor Racing for Holland of Jan Lammers. The following year he was part of the mechanics team of Racing for Holland during the 2007, 24H of Le Mans which he considers to be one of the most special motorsport endeavours.

From that participation he was granted a position within the mechanics/engineer team of Day-v-tec, founded by Davy Lemmens. He played a large role in the career of Rik as he taught him the tricks of the trade in on-track car management, mechanics and performance in touring cars. Rik has filled several positions within 6 years of being employed by Day-v-tec ranging from being a mechanic, to managing.
After finishing his Aeronautical Degree, he took it a step further and moved to the UK in order follow the MSc Motorsport Engineering & Management course at Cranfield University. During this masters degree, the specific areas of aerodynamics and composites where developed once more, together with the development of a solid understanding Vehicle Dynamics, Power Train Design, Metallic Structures and Data acquisition and analysis.
During his thesis for the MSc where he researched communication and instruction strategies for race engineers to racing drivers for iZone driver performance- with Andy Priaulx, he has become familiar with the psychological aspects of motorsports.
After Graduating from Cranfield University, the birth of Motorsport Consulting was a fact.

From that, active driver coaching was one of the main topics next to on-track coaching and race and data engineering services. Categories such as World Series by Renault, Toyota Racing Series and the Le Mans 24h have been highlights.
Since the foundation Rik has been active in various roles within motorsports. From Race engineering in single seaters as well as data/performance engineering, working with GT's, prototypes, car development (RML Group) next to simulator coaching, development and sales.
After several years of hard work, a steady and engaging project was found in working for and together with Van Amersfoort Racing in junior single seater racing. With the FIA Formula 4 as main emphasis, enjoying getting the most out of young, eager, developing drivers, focussing on the delicate car details in the competitive fields, has led to successes over the course of several seasons.

The hard work and determination has paid off with a successfull streak in high level Formula 4 national championships with Van Amersfoort Racing. In three consecutive seasons, we have become champion in both German and Italian FIA F4 championships with 4 driver titles for Dennis Hauger, Jonny Edgar and Ollie Bearman.

With those successes bagged, the move to Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine was a logical one in 2022. With driver Joshua Dufek, having a positive and steep learning curve finishing close to a Rookie Championship. With more endeavour to succes in 2023 for Motorsprot Consulting in FRECA.
